Petarians
for Pakistan

INTRODUCTION
The Petarian Foundation
was registered on the 15th of December 2003
under the Societies Act of 1860. While the general
aims and objectives of the Foundation are broad,
the main focus of the Foundation is to serve
Pakistan through service to Petaro and Petarians.
ACTIVITIES
Within this short span
of life, the Foundation has already made substantial
progress in demonstrating is viability as an
NGO geared towards the service of Petaro and
Petarians. Activities to date include:
1.
The First Petarian Convention
2004 under the theme “Petarians for Pakistan”
was held at Cadet College Petaro on 24-26 Dec
2004. Over 450 Petarians participated. Over
30 lacs donation collected.
2.
Scholarships for cadets at CCP. Five scholarships
were given to cadets during 2004-2005. This
will be continued.
3.
CCP Teachers Training Program. The first Interactive
Workshop was held at Islamabad for all teachers
of CCP on 24-31 July 2005. Further training
programs shall be organized with the objective
to improve the quality of education at CCP with
better trained teaching staff.

GENERAL
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
• The Foundation is a non-profit and non-political
organization, set up for the benefit and welfare
of Petarians in particular and Pakistanis at
large
• The Foundations shall provide welfare services
for Petarians through:
- Creation
of job opportunities through investments
and placement services
- Unemployment
bureau to assist the jobless
- Career
counseling services
- Scholarships
for capable & needy students
- Free course
books for needy students
- Provide
jobs to widows and orphans
- Blood banks
- Other service
or facility that would benefit Petarians
in particular and Pakistanis at large
• The Foundation shall promote and finance
projects in the following areas:
- Public
schools, colleges, universities
- R&D
facilities & "Chairs" at Universities
- Vocational
institutions for all trades
- Public
libraries
- Publication
of books and magazines
- Promotion
of knowledge through any other means
- Health
care facilities
• The Foundation shall promote goodness
in society in all its forms, and shall campaign
against evil, corruption and oppression
in society in all its forms.
• The funds raised by the Foundation shall
be invested in legal businesses to generate
profits to fulfill its objectives. Possible
investment areas include:
- Agriculture,
horticulture and animal husbandry
- Schools
and colleges
- Telecom
and IT, & Engineering services
- Health
care
- Real estate
- Services
MEMBERSHIP
All Petarians are eligible to become members
of the Foundation. At present, there are
over 40 members. Following are the categories
of members:
1.
Members – (required to pay annual fees of
Rs. 1,000 or one-time payment of Rs. 15,000)
2.
Fellows – A member who pays a minimum of
Rs. 250,000 in addition to membership fees.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Foundation is governed by a Board of
Directors having 5 directors of whom at
least 4 must be Fellows. All Directors serve
on a voluntary basis and are not eligible
for any remuneration. The current Board
is constituted of the following:

• Mahmood Baweja, 7518/Q, Treasurer
• Tajammul Husayn, 439/J, Member
• Qaisar M. Zaman, 7523/I, Member
SECRETARIAT
At an appropriate date, the Board shall
form a Secretariat for day to day management
of operations of the Foundation. The Secretariat
shall have full time hired staff, and shall
be headed by a Secretary General.
FUND RAISING
The Foundation shall raise funds from Petarians
and non-Petarians through any of the following
channels:
- Donations
- Zakat (spent
only for the categories allowed as recipients
of Zakat)
- Grants
from government agencies and NGOs
- Fund raising
dinners, functions, meena bazars
- Advertisements
in its publications
- Other means
approved by the Board
- The donors
can dedicate any of the money donated for
sake of their loved
- ones or
for sake of their own destiny in the Hereafter.
